For the fifth year in a row, Team USO has secured a limited number of race registrations for the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon— click here to sign up today.  Voted the “Best Marathon for Families” and the “Best Marathon in the Mid Atlantic,” the Marine Corps Marathon honors the dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Runners from all walks of life participate in the largest marathon not to offer prize money, earning the name “The People’s Marathon.” The 37th MCM will be held on October 28, 2012 in Arlington, VA.

Team USO will provide guaranteed entries for the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon to 50 runners who pledge to raise funds for the USO. The runners who participate on behalf of Team USO will receive fundraising guidance as well as pre-race and race day support.

APPLICATION AND FUNDRAISING INFORMATION

A limited number of guaranteed entries are available for this event. To be considered for an entry, each athlete must commit to make a donation or raise funds totaling $1,200 or more to the United Service Organizations. Upon completion of your Team USO registrion please complete the 2012 Entry Application to secure your slot. 

USO is 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and your tax-deductible donations help fund programs that support the troops and their families.

Fundraising Commitment

For this event, Team USO has guaranteed entries for 50 runners. To be considered for an entry, individuals must commit to make a donation or raise funds totaling $1,200 or more to the United Service Organizations (USO.)

Your credit card information is required as a guarantee against the pledge. The USO reserves the right to charge the balance to the credit card we have on file if the minimum amount is not raised by 11:59 pm EST on October 1, 2012.

Cancellation Policy

Once you accept an entry into the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon from Team USO, you are subject to cancellation fees and/or fundraising commitments as follows:

· A minimum of $1,200 must be raised by each runner and received by USO by October 1, 2012.

· A dedication deposit of $600 is due by September 17, 2012. 

· After September 17, 2012, you are responsible for the $1,200, even if you cancel for any reason, including injury.

Note: Donations raised and received by the USO cannot be refunded, regardless of cancellation date.
